Super Bowl Watch Party Cuisines post from Kara Anderson at C3.
For any football fan, the Super Bowl is a must see. This year Houston is the city chosen to host Super Bowl LI at NRG Stadium. The last time Houston hosted was 2004 and our stadium was then called Reliant Stadium. People came from all over the world not only to see the game but to participate in all the activities the city offers. Super Bowl LI will be just as festive, if not more so.
Unfortunately tickets to the game are very limited and pricey so most people choose to throw a watch party at home. If you are one of this majority and you want to avoid all the grocery store lines by having your watch party food delivered, C3 has you covered.
Below are a few menu ideas from 5 restaurants/caterers in our network that will make your Watch Party the best on the block.
1. Red River BBQ is well known for their amazing smoked meats but also boasts a huge array of items that are ideal for any watch party. Red River has everything from all beef hotdogs to Jalapeno Shrimp Poppers and everything in between. The perfect watch party menu for me includes their Spicy Chicken Wings, Boiled Gulf Shrimp, Pork Rib Sliders, Texas Hushpuppies and Chili con Queso with Chips.
2. Voss Kitchen specializes in catered events so you can get a hue variety of items. This is ideal for the big eating guys and the woman who might want to stay on the lighter side. An ideal watch party menu to satisfy all appetites includes Beef Tenderloin Sliders, Buffalo Wings, Loaded Mashed Potato Balls, Tea Sandwiches, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, and Baked Brie.
3. Luna y Sol is a locally owned Mexican Restaurant that is perfect if your guests love authentic Mexican tacos and cuisine. They cater by the pound so you can order a variety of tacos so that your guests can try them all. Try their chicken, beef, pork, and vegetarian tacos served with flour and corn tortillas, salsa, Pico de Gallo and cheese accompanied by some Mexican Rice, Refried Beans, and guacamole and chips and you and your guests will surely be satisfied.
4. Jerry Built Burgers boasts an amazing Build Your Own Burger Bar if you would rather watch the game instead of grill all day. It includes all natural Angus beef, grilled chicken breast and/or Portobello caps served with white or wheat buns, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, red onions, pickled jalapenos, Ernie’s sauce, mayo, mustard, ketchup and American cheese. Their burger bar also includes a side salad and French Fried Truffle Potato Salad making it a truly complete option.
5. If you would rather have some truly traditional Texas cuisine for the game, look no further than Brisket Bar B Q. Established in 1983, Brisket Bar BQ is a true Houston staple that will satisfy any Texas sized appetite. Choose a three meat combo and two sides to get a variety that would take days to prepare at home. Meat options include beef brisket, BBQ chicken, grilled chicken, ham, pork, ribs, sausage and turkey. Sides include beans, Cajun rice, coleslaw, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, potato salad, tossed salad and mac and cheese.
